Apply for a new electricity connection — every DISCO, one guide
Whether you're moving into a new-build in DHA Lahore (LESCO), a farmhouse in Bahawalpur (MEPCO), or a warehouse in SITE Karachi (K-Electric), the process is nearly identical. Here's the full playbook: documents, deposit, timeline and how to escalate if the DISCO misses NEPRA's 30-day SLA.

Deposits are refundable when you disconnect and settle final bill. Application processing fee (non-refundable): Rs. 2,000–5,000 depending on load and DISCO.
Documents checklist
- CNIC copy of applicant (both sides)
- Property document: registry / allotment letter / registered rental agreement (min. 11-month stamp paper)
- Site plan — hand-drawn is acceptable, marking plot dimensions and location of intended meter
- Form A (Application for New Connection) — download from DISCO website
- 2 passport-size photos of applicant
- NOC from housing society (if inside a private scheme)
- Approved load sanction from DISCO's technical wing (3-phase and commercial only)
- NTN certificate (commercial and industrial connections only)

What to do if your DISCO exceeds the 30-day SLA
NEPRA's Consumer Service Manual (2021, in force 2026) gives DISCOs 30 working days from Demand Notice payment to energise a domestic connection. If they miss it:
- File a written complaint at the DISCO's Customer Services Centre — quote the diary number and paid Demand Notice.
- Simultaneously, file a complaint on the NEPRA Complaint Portal. Attach your Demand Notice challan and diary receipt.
- NEPRA's Consumer Affairs Wing issues a show-cause notice to the DISCO within 15 days. Fines start at Rs. 100,000 per day of delay.
