How the online duplicate works
- Click your DISCO above (or use the universal checker if you don't know which one).
- Enter your 14-digit reference number. It's printed at the top-right of any previous bill.
- The current cycle's bill opens in a new tab, generated live from PITC (Power Information Technology Company).
- Right-click → Print / Save as PDF. That's your duplicate.
- Present at any HBL / MCB / UBL / Bank Alfalah / JS Bank branch, or scan the barcode in JazzCash / Easypaisa / EasyPaisa / 1Link app.
When you'd want a physical copy from the DISCO office
The PITC PDF works for 99% of use cases. You'd only need a physically-stamped duplicate from your subdivision when:
- Applying for a bank loan requiring "attested utility proof of address".
- Submitting for visa (some embassies want a stamped original).
- Court proceedings or tenancy disputes where a certified copy is required.
- Applying for a new gas / water / PTCL connection — some cases require a co-signed utility.
To get a stamped duplicate: visit your DISCO subdivision One-Window Centre, ask for a Duplicate Bill Certificate. Fee: Rs. 20–50. Time: 15–30 minutes. Take original CNIC.
If the online duplicate is missing or wrong
- "No record found": Reference number typed incorrectly, or bill not yet uploaded (5–7 days after reading). Verify last digit — a common typo.
- "Bill under processing": Meter reading captured but bill not generated. Wait 48 hours.
- Old amount showing: Payment posted late. Wait one billing cycle — DISCO reconciles automatically.
- Wrong name/address: Not a duplicate issue — you have a data-integrity problem. File a Data Correction Request at your subdivision.
- Bill shows detection/arrears you don't recognise: Don't pay. See our dispute guide — you have 30 days to challenge.
Save the reference number properly
Once you download a duplicate, take a photo of the top-right corner (the reference number section) and save it in your phone Notes with a label like "MEPCO Home 27-xxx-xxxx". This one-time habit means you never search for a duplicate again — your recent bills also auto-populate on our checker from your browser's local storage.
