Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) covers all of settled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa outside the merged tribal districts — Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Chitral, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Malakand and more. The merged tribal districts are on TESCO (Tribal Electric Supply Company), a separate DISCO.
PESCO reference number
14 digits, top-left of every PESCO bill. Works for online payment, complaints, this site, and PESCO's own portal. Never changes as long as the connection stays in your name.
Recovery if you have no bill: dial 118 with CNIC + address, or take the physical meter number to your local PESCO SDO. Full playbook in our [reference-number guide](/find-reference-number).
Fetching your bill
Enter your PESCO reference in the search box on our [PESCO page](/pesco). The bill loads directly from PITC in seconds.

Load shedding
PESCO publishes feeder-wise load management schedules on pesco.gov.pk. Rural feeders with higher losses see longer shedding than urban feeders. Winter demand is high in Malakand, Swat and Chitral (heating), so bills and shedding both stretch in December–February.
Common PESCO issues
Wrong reading. Request a free meter test at your SDO. Older meters (>10 years) drift more often.
Detection bill. Ask for the audit report in writing within 30 days. Detection without a report can be reversed.
Slab jumps in winter. Heaters and geysers push many households above 200 units in December–February. Track your daily reading; even 5 units under 200 keeps you protected.
Line losses / feeder recovery. DISCOs sometimes bill for aggregate line losses on high-loss feeders. Demand the calculation basis in writing.
New connection. SDO-only. CNIC, proof of ownership or tenancy, site plan. Timeline 30–60 days.
Escalation ladder
1. Fetch and print from our [PESCO checker](/pesco). 2. Dial 118. Get a ticket number. 3. Written application at your local PESCO SDO. 4. NEPRA at nepra.org.pk if unresolved in 15 working days.
Keep every receipt and complaint number in a folder. That folder is your leverage if PESCO's records go missing.
