Ceiling fan electricity cost in Pakistan (2026)

A standard 56-inch ceiling fan draws about 75 W on full speed. Running 12 hours a day for 7 months costs Rs. 300–1,300 depending on your slab — one of the cheapest cooling options in Pakistan.

Energy charge only. Add ~Rs. 81/month for FPA + QTA at typical rates, then 18% GST on the total. Electricity duty and PTV fee are also stacked — see the full electricity bill calculator for the complete tax pass-through.

Protected consumers (≤200 units, 6-month rule)

SlabRs./unitPer month cost
1–100 units11.69Rs. 316

Check your Protected consumer eligibility — the ≤200 unit rule is strict and one bad month resets the 6-month counter.

Cut the running cost

  • BLDC (brushless) fans use ~28 W at full speed — one-third the running cost with the same airflow.
  • Reduce speed by one notch when the room cools — a fan on speed 3 uses 40% less power than speed 5.
  • Combine with a wet curtain in front of the window (evaporative cooling) for hot dry cities like Multan.

Fine print

This assumes an AC-motor fan. BLDC replacements pay back in 10–14 months at unprotected slab rates.
