GEPCO peak hours — 6:00–– summer, 5:00–– winter

Gujranwala Electric Power Company follows NEPRA's Time-of-Use tariff schedule. If your GEPCO meter is TOU-enabled, moving your top three loads out of the peak block below will drop the energy-charge line by 20–35% within one billing cycle.

GEPCO TOU windows (FY 2025–26)

SeasonPeak windowOff-peak (all other hours)Typical rate gap
Summer (Apr–Oct)6:00 pm – 10:00 pmAll remaining 20 hoursRs. 44–48 vs Rs. 30–34/unit
Winter (Nov–Mar)5:00 pm – 9:00 pmAll remaining 20 hoursRs. 44–48 vs Rs. 30–34/unit

Windows are the standard NEPRA-notified TOU periods for GEPCO. Always confirm on your latest bill's tariff line — regional variations exist for TESCO tribal-district feeders and coastal-belt feeders in HESCO/SEPCO/QESCO.

Region served: Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal & Mandi Bahauddin

Gujranwala Electric Power Company covers Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal & Mandi Bahauddin. Peak-hour tariffs apply uniformly across the entire $GEPCO licence area — there is no city-level variation within a DISCO.

Load-shifting playbook for GEPCO customers

  • Air conditioners — pre-cool before 6:00 pm, then raise the setpoint by 2°C during peak. Every 1°C saves ~6% of the AC's kWh.
  • Electric geyser / water heating — run overnight for morning use; a 2 kW geyser for 2 hours off-peak instead of peak saves ~Rs. 60 per day on TOU.
  • Washing machine, dishwasher, iron — delay to after 10:00 pm. Set the machine timer the night before.
  • Motors, pumps, welders — the single biggest lever for A-2 / B-2 tariffs; shifting a 10 kW motor by 2 hours saves Rs. 260–300 per day.
  • EV charging — configure the charger to start after 10:00 pm.

Worked example — GEPCO TOU household

A $Gujranwala household with a 1.5-ton AC (1.8 kW) runs it 4 hours a day. If those hours fall inside 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, the AC pulls 7.2 units at Rs. 44–48/unit = Rs. 317/day. Moving 2 of those hours to off-peak drops the cost to Rs. 234/day — a saving of Rs. 2,490 per month before FPA and taxes (which scale with energy charges too).
